Just over two weeks removed from hosting the Summer Olympic Games, Prince William** and Kate Middleton** were back out in the name or sport while attending the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympics on Wednesday night (August 29).
The Duchess of Cambridge was in typical head-turning form as she donned a recycled coat dress by DAY Birger et Mikkelson while joining her royal husband at the Olympic Stadium venue.
Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II arrived at the opening ceremony alongside the President of the International Paralympic Committee, Sir Philip Craven.
Delivering a statement ahead of the ceremony, the 86-year-old monarch said, "It is with tremendous pride that the people of London and the United Kingdom welcome the world to the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The Games are returning to the country where they first began, more than 60 years ago."
The Queen of England drew an end to her words by proclaiming, "We look forward to celebrating the uplifting spirit which distinguishes the Paralympic Games from other events, drawing on Britain's unique sporting heritage."
