Since his longtime girlfriend's cheating scandal recently emerged, rumors regarding the well-being of Robert Pattinson** have continued to file in; but it appears that the most recent report is a fabrication.

ET Online recently reported that due to Kristen Stewart's** public affair with Rupert Sanders, the "Twilight" hunk has "just cancelled an upcoming U.S. press appearance to promote his film Cosmopolis."

The claim does not indicate what exact appearance the 26-year-old actor is backing out of it, but regardless the actor's rep tells Gossip Cop the story is false. The rep went on to add, "Cosmopolis is a film that Robert is very proud of and looks forward to supporting. No confirmed engagements have been canceled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate."

Although Pattinson plans to stay on track with his obligations, he still isn't immune to heartbreak. A source recently told Us Weekly that, "Rob is beyond devastated. He's so heartbroken. He's shocked she could hurt him and humiliate him this way."
